Scrapbooking Kit

This is the 2nd project I created for my package design class during my senior year at Drexel University. The assignment was to create a kit of some sort and I chose a scrapbooking kit. The name of the fictional company is called First Class Crafts, a nod to the extravagance and delight of flying first class. Inspiration, especially for the color palette, was taken from the early flights of Pan Am and the trunk suitcases that were used as luggage back then. I also chose to highlight the major travel destinations of New York, Paris, and London. I have had the pleasure of personally visiting all three places. All of these cities are full of iconic landmarks. I drew several illustrations and created patterns with them to use for the scrapbooking paper and for the smaller packages containing markers and stickers. For New York, I depicted a bridge, a ship and the Statue of Liberty. Paris is represented by the Eiffel Tower and a woman on a bicycle and London by a double decker bus, a Buckingham Palace guard, and the London Eye. The theme of the kit is meant to help the customer think about their own travel adventures. Personally, I love to travel and learn about new places and apply those experiences to my design work.
