An Indian Wedding

This will probably always be one of my favorite projects: it’s my senior thesis from college. I deiced to create a book that would explain all of the rituals and events involved in an Indian wedding to someone who did not grow up with the culture. Every detail of an Indian wedding has some sort of significance. People from different regions in India will wear different clothing. Traditionally in the south women wear sarees and, in the north, they wear lehengas. The wedding hall is decorated in a specific way and certain flowers have special significance, such as the jasmine flower which women usually wear in their hair for the sweet smell. Indian weddings are so opulent because they are a joining together of not just the bride and groom but their two families as well. I for one have always enjoyed attending these big, crazy, and loud gatherings. I hope you enjoy an inside view into a part of my culture that I truly love! Click here to view the full project.
